Top Transfer Hitters: Part I [D1 Daily]

Show notes

On this episode of the D1 Daily, Burkie and Roons discuss the D1Baseball transfer hitter rankings, noting that transfer evaluation is inexact and citing past portal hits and misses. They introduce this year’s top ten list, then focus on Bino Watters (Notre Dame to LSU) and analyze his approach, chase rate, batted-ball tendencies, and power upside, and on Chris Ramirez (Cal Baptist to Tennessee), emphasizing his defense, contact skills, speed, and fit relative to Tennessee’s typical shortstop profile. They end by teasing a Part 2 on the remaining transfers. 00:00 Welcome Back 00:26 Thank You AstroTurf! 01:02 Carrots Fantasy Detour 04:01 College Football 05:57 Burkie's Neyland Stadium Memories 07:28 Switching to Baseball 07:53 Transfer Portal Reality Check 13:57 Top 10 Transfer Hitters 16:20 Bino Watters: Notre Dame to LSU 21:30 Chris Ramirez: Cal Baptist to Tennessee 27:07 Part Two Coming On Thursday For athletes and sports programs of all levels, AstroTurf has managed the entirety of the synthetic turf manufacturing process for decades.
