Randy wanted to discuss Romans 6 because he hears Christians call themselves sinners and treat ongoing sin as inevitable. He argues that it sounds humble but it is actually disguised unbelief. There is no overlap between “righteous” and “sinner.” In Adam, people were constituted sinners; in Christ, they are constituted righteous. The gospel does not merely forgive; it breaks sin’s dominion. Randy isn’t teaching sinless perfection. He is teaching freedom, excellence, and a real progression toward holiness as believers behold Christ. Romans 6 1 John 2:1; 3:6; 3:9; 5:18 Hebrews 10:26–27 1 Peter 4:1 Romans 4:8 5:17–21
